On this day, we started to get an idea just how varied this small Big Island really is. From the dry Kona side, we drove around the north side and down the east side of the island to get to Volcanoes National Park, stopping to see a few waterfalls along the way. We capped off the evening by viewing the mesmerizing site of lava hitting the ocean. The red tinted steam was a site to behold. Unfortunately our camera skills aren’t good enough to capture it.
